Directorate of Gender in the Administration Police Service (APS) is established to institutionalize gender equality and promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment within the police service. This directorate plays a critical role in addressing gender-related issues affecting both police officers and the communities they serve.
Functions and Mandates of the Directorate
- Promote gender and welfare issues in the Administration Police Service.
- Facilitate and support the implementation of the Administration Police Service policies, strategies, and procedures through advisory and training.
- Ensure constitutional requirement of ensuring inclusivity and respect for diversity in all its spheres.
- Support and promote the enhancement of welfare matters in the service.
